The route
Cross the causeway from the coastguard hut, walk out along the Inner Head and as far as the Devil’s Bridge. Return before the tide.
Worth knowing
- The safe crossing window is posted at the coastguard hut. Treat it as absolute; people are cut off every year.
- The causeway is loose boulder and seaweed and is genuinely awkward underfoot.
- Do not attempt the Outer Head unless you are confident on exposed rock.
