The route
Walk out from the mill along the Enig, climb into the reserve, follow the path above the gorge to the falls, and return by the lane or the fields. Signposted and easy to follow.
Worth knowing
- Talgarth Mill grinds flour and the café uses it. Worth building the walk around.
- Bluebells and wild garlic through the reserve in May are exceptional.
- The steps in the dingle are steep and slippery in the wet.
What you’ll see
The waterfall, ancient woodland, dippers and grey wagtails on the stream.
Background
Talgarth Mill has been restored to working order by a community group. The town was also the birthplace of Hywel Harris, a leading figure in the Welsh Methodist revival.
