The route
Climb the Gribin from the harbour, follow the coast path west, then turn inland across fields and return through the valley woods.
Worth knowing
- The Gribin ridge has an Iron Age enclosure at the seaward end and the best view of the harbour.
- The wooded glen on the return is a welcome change from the exposed clifftop.
- Solva is a ria, a drowned valley, which is why the harbour bends out of sight.
