The route
A circuit of the Deer Park headland from the car park, out to Wooltack Point and back along the northern side. Short with rough ground.
Worth knowing
- Jack Sound between here and Skomer is one of the fiercest tidal races in Wales; you can hear it.
- Boats to Skomer leave from Martin’s Haven and must be booked well ahead.
- Manx shearwaters stream past at dusk in summer in enormous numbers.

Background
The Deer Park wall was built in the eighteenth century for a park that was never stocked, and the enclosure is Iron Age in origin.
