The route
Follow the old tramway north along the shore through the tunnels to Wiseman’s Bridge, head back down the way you came. Flat throughout.
Worth knowing
- The tunnels are unlit but short; a torch is useful but not essential.
- Rehearsals for the D-Day landings took place on these beaches in 1943, watched by Churchill.
- The path floods on very high tides; check before setting out.
