The route
Go up from the village past the quarry onto the ridge and up to Foel Cwmcerwyn, returning by the forestry. Steep in places.
Worth knowing
- Tafarn Sinc is a corrugated iron pub built as a hotel in 1876 and is worth the visit on its own.
- Foel Cwmcerwyn at 536 metres is the highest point in Pembrokeshire.
- The quarry pools are deep and cold. Look, do not swim.

Background
Rosebush slate was quarried from the 1760s. A railway and a spa hotel were built to attract Victorian tourists, and neither succeeded.
