The route
Climb from the town onto the ridge and follow the waymarked route in either direction. Open ground with no shelter.
Worth knowing
- The Ogwr Ridgeway links the Llynfi, Garw and Ogmore valleys along the tops.
- Maesteg has a station, which makes this reachable without a car.
- Ponies graze the ridges and the ground is open access.

Background
Maesteg’s ironworks and collieries shaped the valley; the last pit closed in 1985 and the hills have greened over since.
