The route
From the car park, walk the beach west towards Llanddwyn and return through the forest. Flat throughout.
Worth knowing
- The view of the Snowdon range across the water is the reason this beach is famous.
- Skip the island if the tide is wrong and just walk the sand.
- Ravens roost in the forest in winter in remarkable numbers.

Background
The forest was planted from 1947 to stop the dunes burying farmland, as they had buried the medieval town of Newborough centuries before.
