The route
Waymarked loops circle the angling lake and climb through the woodland past the railway bridges. Steps on the longer route.
Worth knowing
- The valley was quarried for sand and clay and the lakes are flooded workings.
- The old railway bridges are the most striking thing here and easy to miss from the lakeside path.
- Popular with anglers; keep dogs off the banks.
