The route
Boardwalks cross the dunes to the beach, which runs north and south. Flat but soft going in the dunes.
Worth knowing
- Part of the beach is a long-established naturist area and is signed as such.
- The dune slacks hold rare plants including petalwort and dune helleborine.
- Sand lizards were reintroduced here and are occasionally seen on warm days.

Mobile dunes, slack pools and their flora, and a very long empty beach.

The reserve protects one of the few remaining actively mobile dune systems in Britain, where sand still moves freely.
