The route
The way up from the town to the castle and Town Hill, returning through fields. One steady climb.
Worth knowing
- Montgomery has one of the finest small town squares in Wales, almost entirely Georgian.
- The castle is free and unstaffed and the view from it is the best in the county.
- The Robber’s Grave in the churchyard is a local legend worth reading up on.
