The route
Climb Bailey Hill from the town and take field paths into the valley, returning by lanes. Gentle with one climb.
Worth knowing
- The Mold Cape, a Bronze Age gold ceremonial cape, was found nearby and is one of the finest prehistoric objects from Britain.
- Bailey Hill is a Norman motte and bailey, free to walk.
- Daniel Owen, the first major Welsh-language novelist, was from Mold.
