The route

Paths climb from the valley across open ground to the lake below Craig Llyn Llagi. Back the same way or continue to Llyn yr Adar.

Worth knowing

  • The crag above the lake is impressive and the setting feels far more remote than the distance suggests.
  • Rough, wet ground with intermittent paths.
  • Llyn yr Adar beyond is another half hour and worth it if the weather holds.

Background

These lakes fed the slate quarries below by leat, and traces of the channels are still visible on the hillsides.
