The route
The archaeological trail runs from the visitor centre along the shore past the barrows and returns. Level with some moorland.
Worth knowing
- The barrows were excavated before the valley was flooded and have been reconstructed and interpreted.
- Black grouse lek on the surrounding moor in early spring.
- Exposed with no shelter once you leave the centre.
