The route
Climb from the church onto the higher fields and open ground, follow the ridge for the views, then drop back by lanes. Route-finding needs a little care where paths cross unmarked pasture.
Worth knowing
- Park thoughtfully; there is barely room for two cars and the lanes are working farm access.
- The church has a local legend about a dragon killed by a wooden decoy, which the pub sign trade never picked up.
- Views south take in the whole Black Mountains skyline in clear weather.

Background
