The route
Climb through the woods behind Plas Glyn-y-Weddw to the headland and the Tin Man sculpture, then loop down to the beach and back along the sand.
Worth knowing
- Plas Glyn-y-Weddw at the bottom is one of the oldest art galleries in Wales and has a good café.
- The beach huts are privately owned and repainted every year. Photograph, do not lean.
- Steep steps on the climb, slippery when wet.

The painted beach huts, the Tin Man on the summit, and a view along the southern Llŷn coast.
Background
The Tin Man replaced an earlier iron figure that itself replaced a ship’s figurehead placed here in the nineteenth century. Each has been destroyed by weather or vandalism in turn.
