The route
Paths drop through the woods to the estuary shore and loop back above. Steps and rough ground in places.
Worth knowing
- The limekilns on the foreshore were fed by boats bringing limestone up the estuary.
- Small coal pits worked here; the woods hide the spoil.
- The shore path is impassable at high tide in places.
