The route
A waymarked circuit from the quay through the woods above Garron Pill and back by the lane. Muddy in places after rain.
Worth knowing
- The Daugleddau is called the secret waterway and sees a fraction of the visitors the coast gets.
- The creeks are tidal and the mud is deep; keep to the paths.
- Curlew and shelduck on the mud at low water.

Background
Lawrenny Quay shipped coal, corn and limestone from the eighteenth century, and the estuary was busy with sailing barges.
