The route
Follow the coast path north-west from the country park to the fog signal station and back. Rocky and undulating.
Worth knowing
- Gogarth Bay below holds some of the hardest sea cliff climbing in Britain.
- Far quieter than South Stack a mile south, with the same cliffs and birds.
- Choughs and peregrines along the whole stretch.

Background
The fog signal station was built in 1857 and fired an explosive charge to warn ships before compressed air sirens replaced it.
