The route
Follow the shore path from the car park along the reservoir and back. Flat and mostly surfaced.
Worth knowing
- The Taff Trail runs along here, so it links north to Brecon and south to Cardiff.
- The three reservoirs in this valley were built to supply Cardiff.
- Level and easy, and a good option when the tops are unwalkable.
What you’ll see
The reservoir, the dam, conifer forest, and Pen y Fan at the head of the valley.
