The route
The way up up behind the village onto the ridge and along to the barrows, returning by a different line.
Worth knowing
- Quieter than the Taff’s Well side for the same summit.
- The four Bronze Age barrows on the crest are clear and substantial.
- Pentyrch has two good pubs, which the hill does not.

Background
Pentyrch had an ironworks from the sixteenth century, using local ore and charcoal from the woods on the hill.
