The route
A short steep climb from the car park reaches the summit tor and its ramparts, with a loop down to the coast path and back.
Worth knowing
- The summit is a jumble of rock outcrops with defensive walls built between them.
- The view takes in Strumble Head, the Preselis and on a good day the Wicklow mountains.
- Wind here is almost constant; it is a genuinely exposed top.

Garn Fawr was occupied from the Iron Age into the Roman period, one of a chain of coastal forts along this peninsula.
