The route
Follow Glyndŵr’s Way from the mountain road up onto the ridge and along to the high point, returning the same way. Waymarked but the ground is open and featureless.
Worth knowing
- At around 560 metres this is the highest ground on the whole 135-mile trail.
- Very exposed and a long way from help. Full hill kit even in summer.
- The drop into Cwm Gwarchae below the summit is abrupt and worth a careful look.

Open moorland, the Dyfi hills, and a long view towards Cadair Idris.
Background
Glyndŵr’s Way was designated a national trail in 2000. This section is among the emptiest, crossing country that has changed very little in centuries.
