The route
Follow the Epynt Way in either direction from the road. Waymarked with yellow-topped posts and open moorland throughout.
Worth knowing
- The route runs 65 km round the perimeter of the training area and is open to walkers, riders and cyclists.
- Do not stray inside the range boundary. Live firing takes place and unexploded ordnance is a real risk.
- Waymarking is frequent and the posts are the thing to follow.

Background
In 1940 the War Office cleared 219 people from 54 farms on Mynydd Epynt, ending a Welsh-speaking farming community in a matter of weeks.
