The route
A circuit round the headland from Pwllgwaelod to Cwm-yr-Eglwys, returning by the valley path across the neck. Steep on the coast path.
Worth knowing
- The ruined church at Cwm-yr-Eglwys was destroyed by the great storm of 1859, which wrecked over a hundred ships in one night.
- Pen y Fan on the headland is 142 metres and gives a view along the whole north Pembrokeshire coast.
- The valley path back across the neck is flat and easy, which makes the circuit manageable.

The ruined church and its graveyard, sea cliffs, seals below, and Fishguard Bay.
Background
The Royal Charter storm of October 1859 destroyed the church here and killed some eight hundred people around the Welsh coast.
