The route
Climb the fort from the beach and walk the surviving ramparts, then along the shore. Short and easy.
Worth knowing
- The sea has eaten away the western half of the fort and the erosion is visible year on year.
- The mound is glacial till, not rock, which is why it erodes so fast.
- The view along the coast to Yr Eifl and across to Anglesey is the reward.

Background
The fort was occupied in the Iron Age and Roman period. Coastal erosion has removed a substantial part of it and continues.
