The route
One climb, and it comes at the start. Paths climb up behind the village onto the hills and return by the Tywi. Steady climbing with river walking at the end.
Worth knowing
- Soar-y-Mynydd chapel further up the valley is the remotest chapel in Wales and worth the drive.
- The Tywi here is a hill river running over gravel.
- Quiet farmland; you will meet very few people.

Background
Cilycwm’s chapel dates from the seventeenth century, when nonconformist worship was still illegal and met in secret.
