Where it is

The circle shows the general area, not the exact start. Use the directions link below to get to the car park itself. Contours and paths shown are OpenTopoMap, drawn from OpenStreetMap data.

The route

Waymarked paths loop through the grounds, taking in the lakes, the river and the meadows. Several routes of different lengths start from the visitor centre.

Worth knowing

  • One of the most genuinely accessible sites in this part of Powys, with surfaced paths through the main grounds.
  • The park is a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site and opens for stargazing events.
  • Adelina Patti’s private theatre is part of the hotel next door and can be visited on some days.

What you’ll see

Wildflower meadows, the Tawe, ornamental lakes and the estate parkland trees.

Background

The estate belonged to Adelina Patti, the most celebrated soprano of her age, who built a private theatre here in the 1890s complete with a hydraulic stage.
