The route
Colour-coded trails loop from the car park through conifer and broadleaf woodland and past the pools. Undulating but never steep.
Worth knowing
- One of the few remaining red squirrel sites in mid Wales, though sightings take patience.
- Strata Florida abbey is a couple of miles away and pairs well with this.
- Damp underfoot in the low-lying sections.

Background
The woodland was planted on former commons and is now managed to favour broadleaf regeneration and squirrel habitat.
