The route
A path climbs from Croesor onto the south-west ridge and follows it directly to the summit, with a little easy scrambling near the top. back down the outward line, or make a long circuit past the Rhosydd quarries.
Worth knowing
- The pyramid shape only works from Porthmadog. From most other directions it is plainly a long ridge.
- Some easy hands-on scrambling near the summit that most people take in their stride.
- Croesor has a small car park that fills at weekends.

The ridge itself, Cwm Croesor below, and the whole Snowdon range across the valley.
Background
Croesor was a slate village and the tramway ran from the quarries down the valley to the sea at Porthmadog.
