The route
You climb from the town and follow the valley west towards Carrog and Corwen. The canal or the heritage railway give alternatives.
Worth knowing
- The Llangollen Railway runs steam trains to Corwen, which makes a good return.
- Owain Glyndŵr’s manor at Carrog is on the way and he raised his standard at Corwen in 1400.
- The valley sides are steep and the paths climb and drop repeatedly.

Background
Glyndŵr was proclaimed Prince of Wales at Corwen in September 1400, beginning fifteen years of revolt.
