The route
Field paths follow the Severn from the village and return by lanes. Flat with a few stiles.
Worth knowing
- The village sits on the Roman fort of Caersws, and the street grid still follows it in places.
- The poet John Ceiriog Hughes was station master here and is buried at Llanwnnog.
- The meadows flood regularly; check conditions in winter.

Background
Caersws fort guarded the junction of Roman roads through mid Wales and was occupied into the fourth century.
