The route
Follow Lon Eifion south from the castle towards Bontnewydd and Dinas. Flat and surfaced, so turn back whenever suits.
Worth knowing
- The Welsh Highland Railway runs beside the path; steam trains pass several times a day in season.
- Fully accessible and one of the better long level walks in Gwynedd.
- The path continues all the way to Bryncir, twelve miles in total.

Background
The path follows the old Caernarfon to Afon Wen railway, closed in 1964 and converted to a route for walkers and cyclists.
