The route
Level surfaced paths follow the river and loop through the woods on both sides of the valley. Fully accessible on the main routes.
Worth knowing
- Genuinely level and surfaced throughout the core paths, so usable in any weather.
- The park was created from gravel pits and the woodland is young but well established.
- Links to the Clywedog Trail for a much longer walk towards Erddig.

The Alyn river, mixed young woodland, and open meadow with wildflowers in summer.

The site was worked for sand and gravel until the 1970s and was landscaped into a country park in the 1980s.
