The route
Walk out along the coast path north towards Aberarth or south towards Llanon, reverse the outward route. Gentle cliff walking with the sea alongside.
Worth knowing
- The town was laid out to a single plan from 1805, which is why it looks so unlike its neighbours.
- The honey ice cream from the harbourside shop is a local institution.
- Dolphins are seen from the harbour walls in settled weather.

Background
Aberaeron was built as a speculative new town and port by the Reverend Alban Thomas Jones Gwynne, using an Act of Parliament obtained in 1807.
